We in Shree Laxmi Impex use fiber for the pashmina shawls has diameter as fine as 12-14 micron. In blend of silk-pashmina, currently Shree Laxmi Impex has a range of over hundreds of shades dyed with low impact synthetic dyes. Shree Laxmi Impex’ pashmina shawls are woven by traditional weavers who have been in this occupation since the time of Mughals. These weavers narrate with pride stories of their forefathers who served the Mughals and used to make a single shawl in 6-12 month period. Even today their fine art exists and some shawls take months to be completed.

Pashmina, prized by kings and nobles and the pride of brides trousseau in the past is often referred as the ‘diamond’ of all fibres. Perhaps nothing epitomizes the glorious history of Himalayan craftsmanship, as warmly and beautifully as does the Pashmina. Pashmina mainly comes from Himalayan region. It is known for its warmth and long life. The uniquely soft fleece is handcombed every spring from the soft wool from the neck and chest of the Capra Hircus, the Himalayan mountain goat. The goat lives at heights of 12,000 to 14,000 feet. At such heights, where temperature goes down to –10 C, the goat survives as it is blessed by nature with a unique very thin, short inner coat of hair which is the best insulation in the world. The inner coat of hair is Pashmina.
